"La Revancha del Tango" by Gotan Project was one of the big surprises of 2001/2002 and it is known by many tango fans. Following in the footsteps of the Paris-based Gotan Project, BajoFondo is a collection of electronica/pop tracks mixing traditional tango sounds with modern dance beats, this time from Buenos Aires. It differs from Gotan though, in that it has a much stronger club sound (which makes it incidentally, excellent music for Hustle/Tango fusion dancing). Ultimately it may be too 'disco' for most tango dancers, but give a listen and decide for yourself. My favorite tracks are 'Montserrat', 'En Mi/Soledad', 'El Sonido de La Milonga' and 'Mi Corazón'.
