"La Revancha del Tango" by Gotan Project was one of the big surprises of 2001/2002 and it is known by many tango fans. Some of them do not like this type of tango at all, others are fascinated by the mixture of tango and electronic sounds and they can now enjoy a new recording. We present the Bajofondo Tango Club, which has just arrived from Buenos Aires. Following in the footsteps of the Paris-based Gotan Project, BajoFondo is a collection of electronica/pop tracks mixing traditional tango sounds with modern dance beats, this time from Buenos Aires. It differs from Gotan though, in that it has a much stronger club sound (which makes it incidentally, excellent music for Hustle/Tango fusion dancing). Ultimately it may be too 'disco' for most tango dancers, but give a listen and decide for yourself. My favorite tracks are 'Montserrat', 'En Mi/Soledad', 'El Sonido de La Milonga' and 'Mi Corazón'.
