An excellent release we can strongly recommend is this CD by El Arranque. It is called "Clásicos", although one should not be mislead by the title. The pieces might by classic tango tracks, but El Arranque interprets them in their unique style. Like in the case of their earlier recordings, "Tango" und "Cabulero", the musicians add a very personal and fresh tone to the titles, which still remain suitable for dancing. El Arranque are a group of 8 talented musics that are re-inventing the old way of playing tango. The result is a clear amazing sound that melts in your head and ultimately, melts the dance floor of any milonga. Any of the tracks is dancable on the dance floor (in these days this is quite diffcult to find)! Their re-interpretation of La Cumparsita is a hymn to tango. It's a must buy.
